Anyone have a source for some quality gate hardware, especially the locksets/latches?
I’d like to find a solid brass entry lockset, but all the ones I’ve seen don’t work on a style thicker than 1 3/4. How about some other type of high-quality latch, that you can lock and unlock from either side?

If you drive a Mercedes-Benz, check out Rocky Mountain (http://www.rockymountainhardware.com/). Fine stuff, but not inexpensive.

For example - the farmhouse sink is $13,203.10 but available in any finish...
Full mortise entry handlesets can be had from a good Baldwin dealer for $500 or less. The Rocky Mountain stuff is at least twice that, maybe three times.
What a premium to pay for that heavy rustic look!
I'm confused by your wording whether you want Gate hardware or house door entry locksets.
Acorn has several types of Gate hardware and entrysets both.
Rocky Mtn, Bladwin, andf Emtex all have good entry sets

Try vandykes.com. they have all older looking hardware and accessories all shapes sizes and thicknesses.
They are pretty good about delivery and on time.

Those are a few good links there, especially the Rocky Mountain one. Expensive, but I do need some quality stuff.
Sorry if I wasn't too clear Piffin. I need this for exterior gates, but, I'd like to get door-style hardware, at least something that can be locked from either side, like an entry set. Problem I'm finding is that entry lock sets can't be installed on a style thicker that 1 3/4.
I think next I should start talking to the companies that make locksets.
Hey, thanks for those links. Maybe someone else will come along with just what I need.

One caution about using entry sets on a gate... Gates stand out in the weather. Often they warp and change dimensions with the seasons. Often they hang on posts which have no wall framing to stop them from moving around, and often the posts are not well-secured in the ground. All of this means that gates often fit sloppily, and the fit changes with the seasons. Entry sets aren't designed to take up this much slop, and so may not work very well on gates. The usual gate hardware, while it looks somewhat crude, has a lot of tolerance built into it. So if you're going to use an entry set, build the gate and the wall it fits in very well.
