Epoxy in tight area on sheathing/felt junction ?
Mason plans to brick over a recessed area where downspout used to be but some idiot (me) broke out the protective brickwork years ago. There was a 4x in there for a gate latch and when I removed it I realized I should not have removed the brick work. I checked the mudsill and it is fine but the sheathing is a little chewed up ~ 1″ high x ~ six inches wide. Also the two layers of paper tore a bit in the process near the bottom ~six inches up. The layer against the sheating looks like a thin roofing material and on top of that is felt. My problem is because of the narrow area I cannot slide the felt paper under the existing effectively and it’s also very brittle. My idea is to use some epoxy and try to skim coat carefully under the felt. Will this work? Any other suggestion. Also what is the product to use if I go with an epoxy.
Still a wannabe carpenter
