I’ve not used epoxy tile grout b4 and wondered:
Can it be had unsanded?
Can it be had in small qty’s?
Can u use/mix small qty’s at a time?
I want to use it to fill pits/voids in concrete counter tops after they come out of the mold–during the grinding/polishing phase.
I use std cementious unsanded grout for this now, and wonder if epoxy would eliminate the waiting before grinding and polishing again.
thx

Q1: Sorta. I do know the Laticrete Spectralock comes in 3 parts, the A and B which are the two parts epoxy, and the colored sand as part C. Mixing A&B will give you a hard epoxy, but you will need to somehow supply a color.
Q2&3: Go to Lowes and look in the tile section. There you will find 2 quart buckets that contain the chemical mix either from Mapai or Laticrete. That's small to sart with, but you can also make up a batch and freeze it before it cures. On John Bridge, people talk about it lasting for months that way, and working perfectly when it thaws.
Unasked Q4, Can I grind Epoxy Grout on Cement: I don't know, but you can buy a small quantity to try, obviously. I DO know that using a heat gun is about the only way to get this stuff out of the grout lines if you need to make a change.
