Hello to all, I’m gonna give this new fangled form a chance. What are some of the best ways to remove pencil from the walls that will be primed and painted. I’d like to remove them incase the wife decides to go with a self priming paint. Thanks in advance, KaiserRoo I’ll hit save as there is no post

Mars-Staetler, white, plastic, drafting block eraser. No abrasives or pink smears.
Art supply store or Staples.
Buy 2 they are cheap.
Always in my right hand pouch.....
Keep the "erasing" surface or clean on your jeans just before use - the eraser itself will not leave any smear marks but the gunk which has collected on the surface will smear.

I tried several types of erasers including the one you mentioned that I got at Staples. It didn't work but thanks for the advice

PS The magic eraser by MR Clean is what worked. Also not impressed with this new forum.
Of course the other option is a light sanding.
you might wanna try TSP. Any box or paint store carries it.
Some of those pencil and pen marks have "dented" the surface of the drywall paper. You can erase the pencil color or ink, but the line still telegraphs through the paint. You might need to skim some compound over it to fill it in.
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
Mr. Clean make a product called "Magic Eraser" that removes pencil marks from painted walls like "Magic". But it sounds like you have bare drywall, and I'm not sure how it works in that application. Even if it's not the right solution, these "Magic Erasers" are great to have on the job or at home.
Thanks to all for the info. Finally got as chance to check the site. I don't get the e-mails that tell you that you have a reply.

rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol
Alcohol is good for removing marks from latex-painted surfaces since it dissolves the paint slightly, without seriously affecting the sheen. Not likely to do much on unpainted drywall.
