I have a 14×15 room in which I want to put 3/5/7″ random red oak flooring. My supplier gave me a quantity of 3″ 58, 5″ 100 and 7″ 140, are these quantities in sqft? That would give me almost 300sqft of wood for a 210 sqft room – lots of wastage i’m thinkn’. Can anyone interpret these numbers for me?

with random width you will need more than if it's strip flooring.. might be a little strong but I'm betting if you do it right (as compared to do it to stretch the wood out) you won't have much waste..
thanks for the tip on random width, but is he quoting me in sqft?
probably since it will take more square feet to do in random woidth he's giving you enough to do a good job..
If he's decent then he'll take back the surplus but I would tend to save it, should something unexpected happen..
(best way to ensure it won't is to be prepared)
He has probably rounded up to whole boxes. Can you find out how many sf/box?

this material is not boxed, it is unfinished red oak sold I am assuming by the sqft.
