   all those I have seen was ceramic pedestal sinks and everything hanging on the walls like the toliet. I know sweden is big on this.

   As an indirect way of answering this, I think all the IKEA (eurobath) bathroom cabinets are particleboard.

   I found exactly what I was looking for in the online FHB article Designing Showers for Small Bathrooms by Bridget Cahill"As there are no curbs or enclosures to keep water inside the shower, the bathroom becomes a wet room. The walls, then, need to be protected with at least a tile wainscot.
