I just poured an exposed aggregate slab. We’re discussing adding some bling to it with a dye. Is there a proven method that would add color to the grey portland/sand “grout” but not color the aggregate? Any suggestions welcome.

Don't know - consider this a bump...
acid stain, its reacts with the salt in the cements and not your pretty little pebbles
Try it on a little test slab and see. I don't see why the dye would color aggregate of the kind we have here for use in an exposed ag piece.
