Just wondering how long you can leave 30 lb. felt paper exposed before you start laying your shingles? I have about 2 1/2 months on my felt with hardly any rain on it but I want to be sure it is still good before I start to lay my shingles on it.
Thanks

I would just replace, kind of cheap not to.
I was hoping you would not say that.

If it's not torn badly it's fine. UV rays don't eat it up like Ice and water shield.
6 months, 9 months, a year.
when it gets crunchy it'd dried out and bad.
till then ... no problem.
hillbilly siding lasts a long time!

LOL!!!!
Lasts about a year on the roof of a duck blind - of course it's covered with grass for at least part of that.....
If it is not all curly / dry / brittle it is probably OK - I would want to shingle soon though. Cheap and fast to replace to be sure.....
