A local mill has a couple of really nice exterior custom made maple panel doors which a customer never picked up. I can probably get them for a really sweet price.
But, I need interior doors – would they look or feel funny if I used them for bedroom doors? I’m building my own door jams anyway.

Have at it! Solid wood doors for a bargain, what's not to like? If you're making your own jambs, then you're setting the hinges and stops and don't have to worry about "why doesn't this fit the pre cut interior jambs I just bought?". Best part of it is, when you get really mad and slam a door, you're going to make a statement.
I once made a real good statement slamming a 6 panel door during an argument with my (now ex) wife. Had like 7 or 8 panels after that. Oh well...
Most ext are 1-3/4" instead of 1-3/8" but not a problem with building own jambs. Sounds like a good deal.
IMHO...go for it! Gotta love a solid door. The only deterent would be if you couldnt match all the bedroom doors. If ya got enough, why the hey not?!

Thanks for the feedback.
Finally, got a price on the doors today CND$650 each - claims it was his cost. They are really nicely made doors but isn't that pretty standard price? Am I missing something?
