I am looking at a vinyl siding job on a cinder block building which is already strapped with 1×3. The customer has roxul insulation which looks like regular stud wall mineral wool but it is only 3/4″ thick. He tells me that he got a good deal on it and assures me that it is the right insulation for the job. I am skeptical and unsure of how to fasten it up(Ram set?). Will this insulation cause moisture/mold problems. I know that roxul is supposed to wick water and not grow mold, but exterior application?
If anyone has any insight I would be very greatful.

I'm not personally familiar with it, but a briefe googl;e research indicates that it is heavily marketed in tropical zones, leading me to assume that mold is not a concernm. Look here

Thanks for your reply Piffin, would you recomend shooting it on with a ramset or some kind of adhesive maybe PL9000? There will be no Tyvek on this Job so the siding will just go right over the insulation.
Thanks again
You might try strapping it in place with twine or thin wire.--------------

Like I said, I am not familiar with it. Study the product literature or talk to their local rep or email them or use their 800-techline #
