I’ve got a duplex to paint. It’s brick half-way up and paneling(t-111) the rest of the way up with gabled ends.
I’ve use a airless sprayer before, but I must admit, my skills on the airless are not so good yet.
While I would like to get better with the airless, what does everyone think about hand painting this?
If I do it by had, would I use a brush or a roller? The potential problems I see here is that with a roller, how well would it handle the grooves in the paneling and if I brushed it, how long will my arm last 🙂
Thanks.

I've done lots of T-111, , best way, short of spraying, has been combination of roller and brush. Tough to get paint into the grooves with even a 3/4" knap, but 1/2" knap and a 2-3" brush for the grooves worked pretty well.
If you spray , wait for a day with no wind. I worked on a small warehouse that was stucco. The painters set up and prepped windows ,doors etc. They had to wait four days before they could spray, but they finished in a day. I would spray if there is nothing in your way as far as overspray. You wouldn't want to have to have a car repainted or driveway cleaned. If you are using a patent scaffold, you could enclose it with tarps or plastic. If you are using just a ladder, use a standoff ( C shaped bar that stabilizes and keeps ladder 12" from the wall).
My garage has t-111 on it. We did it with roller and brush like johnnyd said...
Any jackass can kick down a barn, but it takes a carpenter to build one.
Spray away. Learning curve is pretty short if you are using a good sprayer and tip. Mask in the afternoon and spray in the morning, when the air more likely to be calm.
