For the second time in a month and a half, I’m on my way to an ophthamalagist to have saw dust removed from under my upper eyelid (hurts like h-e-double toothpicks.) I wear prescription glasses with safety lens, but today a gust blew the sawdust back in my face.
Anyone have a recommended pair of safety glasses/goggles for wearing over prescription lens? I’d wear the goggles/ safety glasses more often, but I sweat like crazy and they fog up.

Well, there are always the old reliable face shields - of course a freak gust of wind could still blow something up underneath it, but it would have to travel a bit further. They would probably work OK if you were working at a chop saw or stationary saw for a while, but I would guess that they would get in the way a bit for normal carpentry work.

If you work in a hard hat area, you could get something more elaborate like a powered respirator helmet - should be cooler than goggles but a bit bulkier and definitely pricier - and you would probably have to take a bit of ribbing when wearing them...

I bought some micro-fans and am thinking about adapting them to a standard set of goggles, but haven't quite gotten around to it yet...

I've used some from Woodcraft for a couple of years and really like them.

There was a really good article, I think a few years ago, in FH, about special kinds of safety glasses/goggles that would integrate prescriptions with side protection.
If I get time I'll do a search on FH to see if I can find a reference.
Here it is:

Well, you'd get some ribbing for wearing them, but the absolute best goggles I've ever used for keeping dust out with glasses were the military issue dust goggles. You have to get the whole kit, as usually they have a sunglass lense in them. I think they also come with yellow and clear lenses you can put in.
I do have another pair of safety goggles at home that'd work with glasses, but I can't remember the brand name right now. I'll look.
