I would like to make people aware!! I recently hooked up with a flood restoration specialist, who has been keeping me VERY busy. Why , because of these Poly flex lines “Not the stainless ones” The past ten jobs I’ve done for this guy have been attributed to poly flex line failure. I have a short story, We went to look at a job that had caused by a flex line failure in a kitchen, I went to look at the connections under the sink and noticed Poly flex lines, I told the home owner that those types of lines have a tendency to fail and he said he would change them soon, Apparently not soon enough. Two days lter they failed and the home owner suffered yet another devastating flood because of these POLY FLEX LINES!!!! BEWARE, BE AWARE!!! Am I the only one who noticed this to be a problem??

Also, beware of flexlines that appear to be stainless steel but is actually woven and colored plastic. Grabbed a couple without paying attention and ended up having to exchange them.
Haven't run into that problem. Not in 17 years.
I have SOME vinyl flex lines in my own house, and they've been here over 15 years without so much as a drip. Maybe you got into some real low quality lines?
Personally, I MUCH prefer the REAL stainless braided. They cost about $15 each here, so that is one way I know if they are the real McCoy (besides the fact I buy them at a REAL plumbing supply house). But... I have used vinyl flex lines when I had to, or the specs of the contract called for them.
Most failures can be attributed to new valves, and old lines. The rubberized seat of the line has an old seating pattern on it, and a new valve won't seal off exactly right. I NEVER change out a supply valve without changing out the supply lines along with it.
Just a thought...

YEA I HERE WHAT YOUR SAYING "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" WITH THESE LINES I'VE BEEN SEEING THEM FAIL AT THE CRIMPED CONNECTION. AND ITS BEEN MOSTLY ON NEWER CONSTRUCTION. WHERE ARE YOU WRITING FROM WE ARE IN NJ. I ALSO BUY FROM A SUPPLY HOUSE, TO REPLACE OR HARD PIPE THE OLD FASHIONED WAY
Water pressure and the pressure regulator might also be a consideration here....
