I would like to discuss any positive fake brick or thin brick alternatives out there. Anyone had good luck with flooring, exterior wall, or interior wall faux brick finishes.
Sometimes the photos look pretty good, but I don’t have any experience with this.
Can you recommend a manufacturer?

I have a friend who sells & installs brick for Redland Brick (Cushwa plant, western MD) They attach a metal track to the house, click in real (thin) bricks and point with regular mortar. Looks exactly like the real thing, and you can do keystones, flemish bond, shapes, angles, whatever you want with whatever color real bricks you like.
Its not much cheaper than regular brick, except you don't need footers or masons, and can brick your dormers if you like...
I forget the name of his product - if you are interested I can look it up.
Well, I guess real brick would be a substitute for fake brick!

Many years ago, 3M had a product which essentially consisted of a thin, grey drywall mix that you put on the wall; then you taped off a brick pattern with 3/8 wide tape, and put a 1/8" layer of red on top...let it set for a while, then pulled the tape off...it looked surprisingly good. Long gone product, though.
Absolutely have used veneer real brick with great results. Goes on like quarry tile with a thinset, walls floors, chimneys, exterior and interior. You strike off the joints like regular brick. If installed by an experienced brickie or tile setter you cannot tell the difference. All it is is real bricks that have been sawn to 1/2" thickness. When I put in my woodstove (one of these years) I intend to build a box around the ss chimney and veneer brick it to look the same as the existing chimney. Like mentioned above, no footers or fondations need apply!
Sorry I don't have a link right off hand. Will look about and see if I can get it for you.
Z-brick looks good as interior decoration on a wall or fake fireplace. Use the 'net or check with Ace Hardware. It uses a mortar-colored adhesive and is pretty easy for a homeowner to install.
A couple of years ago I did my foundation. Bought full size bricks and rented a wet saw. Cut them to 1/2" and glued them with construction adhesive and then pointed the brick. The only trick is the corners but I was able to cut and L shape with the wet saw. Can't tell it is only a thin veneer. A lot cheaper then buying already sliced then bricks. Only thing is I thought I could get two faces but brick I bought had a diffferent texture on other side.
just out of curiosity, what did you do with the scrap leftovers??
Still have them piled up in my shed. Looks like they may become fill.
