Familiar with Mini-Recip Saw? Help a college student in NEED! Chance to win $200

DePaul_Tool_Guy | Posted in General Discussion on February 12, 2013 10:38am

Hello,

First of all, I want to take the time for welcoming me into the community. I know some may find this as a bother, but as a student you have to do what you have to do. I am studying marketing and I need to talk to people familiar with the Mini- Recip Saw tool lines.

ARE YOU A DO IT YOURSELF HOME IMPROVER????

Want a chance to win $200 by filling out two quick 15 minute surveys?

Do you want to help college students learn based on analyzing your preferences?

I am currently a HONORS MARKETING STUDENT AT DEPAUL UNIVERSITY! Our class is trying to run a perceptual map study and conjoint analysis, but we need about 100 people to take each of our surveys. We basically are working on a project for a real life client, but they have not provided us with any compensation nor any incentive money.

We have pulled together our resources to be able to offer a contest to win a $100 Visa Gift Card for each of the surveys available (Possible winning $200). At the end of the survey you will be asked for your email for the lottery (You must get past first three disqualifying questions).

If you are a DIYer please help us learn, each survey was tested to take only 15 minutes.

Survey 1: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8JYBLJL

Survey 2: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8J9L8SQ

Thank you so much for your time, if you know any other DIYers who would want a chance to win as well, share the link!

    Joe

    a question-

Why did Ask.com remove your (gabriella's) survey from their site?

    a comment-

The wording in the post could use some work.

The survey could as well.  Did you take it?  Have you received any feedback from anyone that has?

    thanks.

Hello Joe, thanks for your interest.

I'm sorry if my post did not meet your standards. Yes I took the survey and yes we received feedback. But we also tested our surveys before going live. And checked with our professor who runs a very successful consulting firm in Chicago.

As for your question, Gabby is NOT in my group. Her survey is for a different product line, there are 5 different groups (consisting of 5 different product lines that we are running analysis on for our "client")

We found it difficult for reach individuals that used Mini-Recip saws because its a relatively new tool.

Our surveys are going to be live for 6 more days, I'll be able to tell you more feedback as it gets closer.

      Thanks again Joe!

Best of luck on your survey Joe.

A little more background for you-I believe it was Makita or perhaps Milwaukee that introduced a mini sawzall-and it was quite a while ago.  An electrician had one on the job when I first saw it.  So to say they are a new tool is a bit of a stretch.

Another dumb survey from DePaul that attempts to force users into the DePaul view of reality. What this survey is really accumulating is the apparent brand reputation for each brand. Not a clue for how or why the tools are used.

BTW, does mini recip saw mean an oscillating tool like a multi-mate or are you folks surveying small recip saws like my 19 volt crapsman? You might want to properly describe the tool if you expect useful results from the survey.

You have to know something about tools to write meaningful questions about them.

        1. DePaul_Tool_Guy | Feb 15, 2013 09:19pm | #5

Thanks for taking the survey. I'm doing what I have to do, can't hate on that.

Our tool is mini-recip saw, the product category. Not the attachment tool. Like the bosch or the milwakee brands. Thanks to your feedback we plan on adding a picture of the tool when it asks do you know what a mini-recip is. The brand name will be taken out of course.

The survey is designed to figure out consumer peception of our "clients" product. The conjoint analysis survey is to figure out which set of product attributes our target market values most.

Check out the other survey for another chance to win! If you win and we send you a gift card I want to see a picture of you in a DePaul hat!

You know, a nice hat from a Chicago area golf course would look alot better.

Don't fret, DePaul hooked me up with a great internship with the PGA earlier this year where I worked with the marketing/sales teams on the Ryder Cup. Got a bunch of swag ;)

            DePaul hooked you up.........

            I looked you up.

            So, got an extra hat?

Every year there's a forum Fest-we usually get a couple matches together for those that like the game.

Always looking for prizes.  Care to donate?

            thanks.
