I need to cover and 11 inch area with aluminum fascia. I can buy fascia in 8 in and 6 in. My thought was to cut the bent edge off a piece of 6 in and overlap two 6 in pieces. My problem is: How do I attach the top piece that will go under the drip edge and overlap the bent piece that that is attacheed to the sophit? I have been told not to nail to the fascia face.

I think you need to buy a roll of aluminum stock and bend your own. Box stores only sell material for typical installs.
Any ideas where stock can be purchased? Do I need to rent a break to bend it?
I don't know where you are, but typically that material is purchased at a supplier who carries siding and trough. Most eavestrough is bent out of rolled stock. And, yes, you will need a brake to fab. this. A tin guy would have all the necessary equipment and suppliers in place. Maybe just get him to bend it for you, and you install.
How large of an area is this? It may be simplest to just have a sheet metal guy make the piece for you.

we have a metal building mfg, supplier in town that will cut and bend any trim pieces. check the yellow pages under metal building.A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do...
