Must be the onset of Alkyehiemers but my bud and i both 50 ish got free Fat Max drywall knives at lowes with something(I forget). Its either over-engineered ; us or im missing the book of instructions but what the heck. How could they make something so easy so silly difficult. I can have a new blade in my old emanuel one in 15 seconds with a nail.
Fat Max needs a diet!

I aint been happy with any of the "Fat Max" tools.
Stanley was a perfectly good, mid-priced, hand tool company for decades.
They hadda go and "improve" everything.

The ONLY things that I've found from the Fatmax line that I have consistantly been happy with are the tapes. I know a lot here don't like them but I haven't found another tape that fits my hand that comfortably. Other than that their going trend seems to be bigger and bulkier with over-engineered features. I do have a six foot level hanging around in the shop that I had picked up at HD one day in a bit of a bind, but even that isn't so hot. The hammers are lousy... uncomfortable and poorly balanced. Just my opinion though...

I left my chalk box box out in the rain
Had to pick up another and ended up with
Stanly FatLine
Serious the string is really FAT
no problem staying"IN" the line with this one.
I took it back to Lowes today to see if the tool guru there could figure it out and before long we had like 5 guys there who in the end said.."just throw the thing out!"
I can never keep a utility knife for long anyway so probably should stick with the cheapos.
Every fat max thing Ive used so far is terrible that utility knife is junk, BUT I just got a fat max extreme 20oz hammer (apprently new and improved over old version) didnt cost me nothin.
Been using it for 2 weeks now and I think its great, granted ive never owned anything but a 20oz and 24oz estwing, the grip and balance are awsome.
Havent been able to notice the supposed anti-vibe qualities too much.
I guess others swear by douglas and such but I cant spend that kind of money for a hammer, long story short IMO the hammer is the best Ive ever tried

The Fatmax saw horses are pretty nice tho. Well the price is crazy.
and I wish you could mount a 2x on top.
I screwed a couple of 2x2 blocks to 2x4's and covered them with carpet. Will put some strips under the 2x4 to keep centered lengthwise.
