I’m interested getting feedback on your favorite (and least favorite) decking material be it composite or wood. Our remodeling company in the Washington, DC area often uses Trex, but our latest project has developed mildew stains that are recurring weeks after recommended cleaning — and I’m seeing more complaints about this issue on the internet.
My considerations are endurance, aesthetics and workability. As for aesthetics I liked the look of some of the Trex Accents products. I received a sample of CorrectDeck that has antimicrobial protection but it looks too shiny and fake to me. Looking for feedback on CorrectDeck, Weatherbest, Choicedek, etc. and your preferred wood decking material.

I have had good luck with the tropics line by Fiberon. Has worn well - no mildew (on the northside of the house) and have been complimented on looks.
Was in Alexandria a few weeks ago and noticed the entire public dock area (end of King St.) was done in what looked like Trex. Looked to be holding up well, high traffic area. No noticeable stains.
