I’m considering purchasing a toolbelt from Occidental Leather (model 5080L-LH). It looks like a good quality belt. Plus, I’m left-handed and they make a version for “lefties” like me with the pockets turned around. However, this belt costs $175 on Amazon.com and seems like a lot of money to spend on a tool belt.
Anybody have one of these leather belts and are they worth the money? Do you have another brand you recommend?

Buy quality and don't look back.
Value is in the middle of the market.
Occidental has a good reputation.
Toolfreak,
I bought my first Occidental Leather belt in the early 90's just replaced it last year with another one.Worth every penny, they take a long time to break in but once they do they're very comfortable.
I think you can get a better price then that, go to Occi web site get a list of dealers and check around.

I just bought an Occi belt about two weeks ago. I love it. It gives a lot of support, holds everything and is built like a brick s#*t house. I too was a little leary about the buck seventy five price tag but I can see it will last forever. I am very satisfied with the purchase. Go for it. It will be the last belt you buy for a LONG time.

Finally, after 30 years of right-handed belts...I got the oxy lite left handed framers...they could've cost 300 bucks and still be worth it...everything's in the right place,ha ha,ahhhh...
I bought a pair of occidentals about a year and a half ago and love them.
I bought a set of Occi's two years ago.... no regrets. Everyone around me has gone through at least a rig or two since then and mine are just barely starting to show any wear. They are so well made, that once you see their quality you will immediately know where that extra cash went.
Like any good investment, it only hurts at the time of purchase. After that, you'll be wondering why you waited so long.
I love mine as much today as they day I bought them... probably more cuz now they really feel like they're "mine". Just do it. Then come back and thank us!
