Can anyone verify that the Fein Turbo II Vacuum (the 9 gallon model) has a 3 second auto shut-off delay just like the Turbo III (the 14.5 gallon)?
I am finding conflicting info and it matters in my purchase decision.
Thanks

Jeff-- Does it keep running for a few seconds after you shut off the tool?

Hey Jeff
Ever done any inner maintainence to ur R2D2.Ive had mine for a couple of years and love it but it doesnt sound the same lately and I wonder if theres any lubrication to bearings or anything to help him out .
haven't really had it long enough ... or beat it up enough ... to hit that level yet.
I actually had it sitting around about 6 months in the house before I finally put it into the work van ... so far .... it's been babied.
I'm sure that'll change the first time it's on one site and the old sears vac is across town on another.

Big Cal's had his for a few years now ... if you see him around ... I'd ask him. Might even be his primary remodeling vac.

I sent you an email via BT with a name of someone I've dealt with at Fein USA. He might be able to point you in the right direction. The only problem with operation I've had on mine was lack of suction recently when using it to p/u dust from dry cutting masonry. The filter became clogged with the volume of fine dust. Cleaned that up and it runs like a champ. And yes, the vac runs for a few seconds after the tool is shut off.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

Thanks for the good info. The Turbo II is on sale at Amazon for $219 minus $25 off any purchase of $199 or more for a net total of just $194. Certainly sounds like a deal to me.
Anyone care to suggest some accesories I can't live without? I'm going to use it primarily in the shop... I figure I'll need an adaptor to connect to my sander, etc. I figure I can use the floor tool from my old shop vac. (I can't wait to vacuum the shop without needing to wear muffs!)
Might be a good deal. I assume you get the DW-1 accessory kit. In Jan 02, I purchased the Turbo II with the DW-1 kit for 245 from my local tool supplier. The hose you'll love. Haven't crushed it yet tho I'm trying not to. The kit contains a rubber adapter that should go from 1 to 1-1/4 port. I needed to get a dust shroud for my PC ROS and an adptr for the hook up. The adptr from an ooooolllllldddddd sears shop vac provides the hookup for my tablesaw port. The included rubber adptr fits out on the ooooooooooollllllldddddddd rockwell mitre saw. The Hitachi slider needs a box at the back and silver tape to the port to modify.
At any rate, the tools are worth it. You probably could adapt, but what the hell...................
Enjoy the tool, it don't tip over.........it's not that heavy.........quiet.........easy to dump..........keep the filter bag clean.

No, the DW1 kit is not included. This kit sells for $69.99 at amazon. Sounds like you got a deal.
That's why I buy all my power tools and some other equipment from them. Good deal, mom and pop type operation in business 30 years, extended credit to a couple hippies w/o a credit ap (course that was years ago)..........why go anywhere else. Matter of fact, email them at [email protected] and ask Tim what he could do for you. If shipping isn't much, you might get lucky. They have a half dozen vacs sitting just inside the front door. I think it's worth the look. Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

I will do that. Where are they located?
Thanks

So why is it that they want you to use an expensive paper disposable bag with the 1 micron filter? Why not just use the 5 micron cloth filter bag together with the 1 micron cartridge?
Beats the heck outta me. I use it stock. No bag to dispose of the crap. Dump the vac bucket, gently bang the filter bag on a tree. Occasional cleaning of the filter bag (reverse suck out the dust with the loud, bowling ball carrying original sears shop vac). Don't really know much about the microns.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

Get a long hose (anyone tried the new long hoses from Lee Valley ?) - I have a double-length of hose on the old Sears (paid for itself many time over) and we put a 30' "built-in" hose (c/w power-head) on the Milwaukee tha paint crew uses..
