I’m sure this is old news to regulars on here, but I just got hip to the Fein Multimaster. What a great tool!
We’re finishing a whole house remodel, and to save money on the hardwood floor refinishing, I decided to remove the stained/rotted pieces of oak hardwood myself. Instead of having to take out the entire length of flooring, this tool enables you to cross cut with incredible precision. After doing the floor, I used it to cut the little piece of wood that sticks out past the cabinet edge that’s usually covered by the toe kick—unbelievable control.
The kit I bought comes with a sanding kit, caulk scrapper, and grout removal blade, plus a multitude of wood/metal cutters.
Think this thing will be great for cutting out jambs for tile installations too!
So, if you’re looking for a comletely different tool to add to your remodeling tool kit, this is it.

Dammit. There it is again.
Sounds like that'll be the next tool for the arsenal.

I have bought a fair number of blades from this ebay guy, and as far as I can tell, they are just as good as the much more expensive blades from Fein.********************************************************

There are less expensive blades available on ebay? I'd like to know that info too...

Break out that crowbar, pry open that wallet, and buy one.
You won't regret it.

ya keep buying all those closeout specials
and you don't quite know what to do with some of it.
Trust me, you'll use the MM.
And you'll be kickin' yerself for not getting it sooner.
Buying a Multimaster is like when one bought an early CD player, Yes, the cost is considerable, but what you're really buying into is a system whose components add up quickly.
I reface my H&L sanding pads by heating them, pulling off the spent material and gluing a new one on or declaring them to be PSA pads.
I also buy 1/2 sheet loop sandpaper to cut new sanding triangles from. Easily done since I have all those patterns around.
I've had mine for at least 3 years now.
Its one of the tools that would be replaced immediately if stolen.
another use for the offset saw blade
A new neighbor was complaining that most off his single hung windows don't open or barely open because the previous owner painted them closed.(can you say "flip this house"). I took the Fein tool over there and in about an hour had every window easily opening and closing.
Now the need to be sanded and painted correctly. Not my job...
