I need to replace about 250′ of chain-link fence due to old age/deterioration. About 75′ of it runs through a pond, right along the shoreline. It’s about one to two feet deep at the posts. The original ones were concrete filled, galvanized pipe with about 1/4″ wall thickness. I want the something similar or better. What should I be looking for? Should I just drag the fencing contractor(s) out back and show them and hope they can match it? Is there a synthetic/composite post with a long life?
The originals looked old when I moved in back in ’77 and have really held up over the years.
Am I looking for schedule 40 or 80?
Thanks!
