I just ran short of Maze galvanized nails on a job and don’t have time to order more now. I used it as an excuse to pick up a Bostitch N66C and some Thickcoat galvie nails they had. Nails should be good, right? It said they were safe on ACQ and I spoke to Bostitch customer support and got a thumbs up. Anybody else using the Thickcoat nails?
Thanks,
John

I used those nails with my Bostitch N-66 on the last fiber cement job I did. And one I did 3 years ago, no problems at all with them.
I just visited the 3 yr old a few weeks ago, heres what it looks like.

Stilletto,
Thanks for the reply. So what is the nail that you use on a regular basis? We used Maze galvie roofers on the last few jobs and the guys didn't like them. Said they jammed the guns too much. For our midwestern climate, I think the SS nails are overkill for fibercement.

I also think SS nails are overkill in our area, I usually use Galvanized Maze nails, or the thick coats when I run out of Maze.
I usually get the nails with the white painted heads for Azek and Fiber cement trim.
I haven't tried roofers on a large scale yet so I can't give you any pointers there.
Are the galvanized Maze nails for the coil siding gun? Any issues shooting them?
Last time I bought the galvie Maze nails, I bought them for the roofing gun because I didn't have a siding gun. The guys complained of frequent jams. And nobody locally carried them. I had to special order them from Maze.John

Yep the galvinized nails are for the N-66 coil siding gun. Plastic coilated ring shank 8's. ANd no issues shooting them.
I have a supplier locally (30min away) I get the nails from, the same people I buy the siding from. Luckily I haven't had to order any yet.
