Would I fill all the old nail holes that are left open before I strip my living room floor or should I fill them after I strip the floor and before I refinish it?
Thanks

Lots to consider, depends on what you have and your plans. One benefit to doing it before is that you might avoid having those nail holes fill with gunk from the stripping process, and not being able to find them all before you refinish it.
Don't take my advice till you get more responses, someone else may know better.
I think the important variable here is what you mean when you say strip. Typical refinishing on a wood floor, it'd just get sanded off, and vaccumed. But if you actually mean stripping with a chemical product, I guess I'd have to agree that having anything in the floor where that might collect and become inaccessible when you want to remove it is a serious downer when you decide to put a finish back on.

Any filling after the sanding/stripping will seal the open pores of the wood - and will vbe very unsightly. Believe me, I've seen it. Instead, finish the first and perhaps second coats (you've not said how you want to finish - but I highly recommend a water-based product like Varathane Elite) when the wood has been sealed. Then apply up to 3 more coats for that great look and hard-wearing effect.
All the best...
To those who know - this may be obvious. To those who don't - I hope I've helped.
