Hey all:
Got some shelves in the closet, built by our finish guy. He shot nails into the shelves from the outside of the vertical bits, so I’ve got these chunk-holes in the sides of my melamine. Missus sez “Fix it!” I sez, “Sure, soon as I figger out what with.”
So, what with? Obviously, something that has to be sanded would be less than desireable, as sanding will scratch the helloutta the melamine. Any ideas/experience much appreciated.

White silicone.
About the only thing I know of that will look decent is a fast cap.

You can get a fast cap counter bore bit and inlay them if you need but you wouldnt have to. Just put the fast cap over the nail hole.

Melamine edging tape if she's finicky.
White thumbtacks?
Seamfil, usually for (badly) patching plastic laminate, will work. Lacquer thinner to clean up, no sandpaper.
PAHS Designer/Builder- Bury it!
Another possibility:
Fill with this

And if you wanna go whole hog

I shoot some in a jar cap or and dab on with artist's brush on small stuff

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.
Seamfil for countertops works great.
