I need to repair termite damage to a non structural beam. Termites are gone but black ants have taken over. I’ve injected wood hardener resin into holes that I’ve drilled and into all of the tunnels I can find. I have used bondo to repair similar problems but was wondering if there is a product that could be injected into the holes to fill the voids. Has anyone tried construction adhesive using a caulking gun? Or 2-part epoxy using a double tube caulking gun? As long as it dries I can grind off whatever oozes out and it will all be painted. I’m trying to save some time without compromising the end product which just has to look good. I think the ants have just taken over the termite nest but are they also a problem in themselves? This is in S. California and the ants are small, not the big carpenter ants. Thanks for any advice.
