Finally Cool At Last!
Well, about a week and a half ago they installed the new three ton unit up in the attic. They had added additional supply registers to two rooms, but the end result still was not enough to make my computer room comfortable. Infact, while there was additional cooling, it was still the master suite that got additional cooling and cooled more quickly.
Last Friday they came in, increased the size of the run to my computer run, added a couple of dampeners and the end result was that my computer room was reading a lower temp than the thermostat in the master bedroom. H3ll yeah!
Well, at least for me it was a very positive thing. 🙂 The installer said he may have closed the dampener to the master suite a little too much in that he thinks he may have cut the flow by half. No kidding. My southern bell WIFE who never has complained about it being too warm actually said she thinks its a little warm.
No problem. I think a minor adjustment to the dampener to that run can be done tomorrow morning. I need to go back and ask why he installed a second dampener on the enlarged supply to the computer room, but I think its probably a safety in case I got too cold. Hah! Its amusing seeing the thermostat set to 73-74ºF and the thermometer hanging on the wall at 68-69ºF.
I have no complaints about this end result. <big grin> And well worth the money as I am happy.

that's DAMPER ... not dampener ... FYI.
He installed a couple ... the right way to do it. Ideally, one for every room or branch even. Sounds like he went in the right direction ... now fine tune for a cool wife!
