Yeah - my Saturdays ARE pretty precious...Of all the things that I have lost, I miss my mind the most!
The old addage "Those that can, do...those that can't, teach" comes to mind.
If these guys could make money using their methods, they would be, Instead, they make money by supposedly teaching you how to make money.
Using their methods.
That they haven't been successful enough using.
Which is why they're out doing road shows.
The first seminar is might be informational, but it might just be a teaser for books and programs that they'll have for sale on-site, or to sign you up for a pay-to-attend seminar at a later date.
Personally, I'd take a pass.
Ya wanna hear something funny bout this? It's the "american financial CELEBRITIES" that sends red flags up my brain...I mean, shouldn't they at least be "american financial CONSULTANTS" or sumthin?
Tally looks like: "GO" = zero, "NO GO" = 2Of all the things that I have lost, I miss my mind the most!
Looks like you are getting the 3rd string. In Dayton they have Donald Trump and Lou Dobbs.http://www.finishrich.com/davidbach/seminar_details_afc.phpAnd here they have one of the Osmond Brothers.http://www.osmond.com/newsarchive2.htm
Sigh...yeah...even the travelling carnivals bring their 3rd string elephants thisaway...Of all the things that I have lost, I miss my mind the most!

You know the value of it . I dont think you will get but a handshake of information but it might set that already high spirit of yours in active motion and then again you could go shopping at the mall after its over with to even it up. Im still tickled over your cartoon time right now for that was funny right there I dont care who ya are. <G>

The only one that isn't trying to scam money out of you is Danko. (Millionaire) He is the only one that I would have any interest in. Rest of them are selling "programs". We just had (or coming soon) a RE seminar coming through Portland. Forget the name. Same deal.
In 2000 it was Day trading.
U ever gonna make it to Pittsburgh?
just call and Cath will get U into one of the seminars she organizes for her boss.
'course he's trying to sell U something too .... his services.

I usually fly in/out of Philly and drive over to Leesport buddy (cuz my galpal who needs help with her triplets lives there)... but I'll keep the "offer" in mind!Of all the things that I have lost, I miss my mind the most!
I would have to go
Mizshreddeer, I'd go.
I'd bring my own copy of the Millionaire Next Door and have him sign it. I'd be happy to have a small conversation with Danko.
I'd also understand that if five speakers are speaking, they be giving up a ton of information, but some of the meat and potatos would be held back and you'd probably have to ante up to get some of that, if you wanted it from those particular speakers. They'll have $500 courses, $1500 courses, $2500 seminars. You might be offered $5000 seminars. You don't have to buy any of them and you won't be high pressured. They don't need to put high pressure on you because they will have a very significant number of people stepping up and purchasing those seminars without any pressure!
The reason that I'd go is because I know that you pick up one or two ideas every time you attend a training such as this. Since I've never heard any of those speakers, I'd be interested in their programs and their walk through life. I'm not going to worship them simply because they are the speakers, but I'm probably going to make the assumption that they have actually had some significant experience in the areas that they are speaking and those topics are of interest to me. I'd probably learn a few things to avoid and learn a few things to explore.
I've paid the $149 for numerous seminars just like this and have never walked out dissapointed. Most often, the information gleened is just the primer that I needed to steer me in the direction that I need to go to learn more about a subject. Another major benefit of attending these seminars is that it gives me important information about which direction that I DON'T WANT TO GO!
There is one other significant benefit to attending seminars such as these: you meet people that are interested in investing and building businesses. Don't underestimate this network of people. For instance, in this forum I've seen many people wonder how they would fund certain real estate ventures. Some have said that they don't have any money to get started in a real estate business such as rehabbing run down properties. If they attended functions like these, they would walk away with stacks of money sources and they wouldn't be acting like they don't have enough money to get started in a business such as that.
Before I started attending seminars, I thought the same way. I quickly learned that my money problem wasn't the same money problem that others have. I now know that I could easily get 100k for a rundown property in as little as 48 hours (that is a very aggressive time frame but in theory it is possible). I have stacks of cards of lenders looking for people like me to lend to that specialize in rehabbing properties. Because of attending these seminars, I have choices.
I will guarantee this: if you attend a seminar like this every Saturday for the next year, you'll have enough information to become as wealthy as you want. If you don't attend these types of seminars ever, you'll be in exactly the same situation as you are today. The choice is yours. It is a well publicizd fact that 98% of the population will NOT attend a seminar such as this. When the two percent of the people attend, probably only 2% of them will act on the knowldege that they are seeking.
It's a numbers game. No one can force the knowledge upon you, you have to seek it. At this point, many in here wouldn't even know where to begin to do their financial research. A seminar like this might prove to be their starting point. Everyone has to start somewhere or they are subject to market conditions and laws that will dictate their course in life. Some of us are deciding to grasp the wheel at the helm. The choice is yours.

ps I'm curious why they sent you that invitation. You must be associated in some way with a financial institution that has you on a mailing list.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!
Warning! Be cautious when taking any framing advice from me. There are some in here who think I'm a hackmeister...they might be right! Of course, they might be wrong too!
"'ve paid the $149 for numerous seminars just like this and have never walked out dissapointed."The problem is that is not a $149 seminar. It is a free one. That is just a come on.Which means there is much less likely to have much usefull info without paying more. The price on ebay is probably more realistic.
Bill, just because it's free doesn't mean that no information will be given.
To understand that principle, I'd suggest Gitomer's book "The Little Red Selling Book". In it he clearly outlines why he alway "gives value first", then the buyers beat a path to his door.
These seminar hosts have a wealth of knowledge. They'll dole out some significant amounts of it free and hope that the listeners will want to know more. It is akin to them spending money on newspaper advertising. They could spend ten thousand on ads, or they can give a free seminar. Either way, it offers them exposure that just won't happen if they do nothing.
Since it's free, it will only cost a few minutes of her precious cartoon time on Saturday morning. If she listens in for an hour, she might like what she's hearing and stay. If she doesn't like what she's hearing, she can walk out.
I like the risk vs reward ratio on a deal like this.

Yeah I was REAL curious about that too since:
1) it was sent to my house address (whereas ALL my statements, etc., go to my POB)
2) they had my name spelled correctly (that's rather noteworthy...in my life experience...)
3) I opt out of direct mailings and ALWAYS make that known in my financial institution dealings...so is CURIOUS situation.
So I kinda thought: maybe they're simply direct marketing to homeowners of record - easy enough to do using property deed or tax info.
Still not sure if I'll go or not. Of all the things that I have lost, I miss my mind the most!
No...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!

OK, I'll pass the 2nd ticket along to somebody else...
