I’m just starting a little discussion on how many of you found a great deal on a tool(s) this holiday season. Me, I just bought a Dewalt 18V cordless reciprocating saw for $125. Pretty good compared to $299 in a catalogue I regularly receive in the mail. I know cordless won’t hold up to corded but look at the price. What about you guys?

I posted this before but here it goes; I found the Dewalt 6 tool set for 473 at HD got lowes to come down another 10% and there was a rebate for a free tool so I ordered a metal cutting saw.
I gave my mom the drill and my old saw and flashlight, charger, and one new battery and one old.
I now have in 18 volt: circlesaw 2impacts,2grinders,recip,cutout,3 drills, radio, vac,16 gauge trim gun, jig saw, metal cutting saw (waiting),2flash lights, 4 chargers and 5 batteries.
Saw the small vac clearanced for 99$ at lowes and I have a 10$ coupon so I will buy that this weekend which comes with 1 xrp battery and charger.
I want the right hand drill and shears but I will wait for the next deal.

wow that's a good collection
It takes studs to build a house
Check out the bare tool (no battery or charger) you want on E- Bay
That is my last resort I rather catch a deal at the big boxes with batteries. As this is how I only buy I save 40-60% and I keep refreshing my battery inventory.
Most of ebays is people buying up clearanced sets and then breaking them up.

I own a number of extra tools bought bare from there with no problems.
Prices can be really good, but you've got to keep checking.

ya -
visited the inlaws and started cleaning the back house/shop/garage - DW's grandmother and step-grandfather lived there in the 70's - I didn't get as deep as I hoped, but got one bay cleaned and the other started -
Earl was a handyman (tho one that kept a box for broken hammer handles...) -
didn't get anything particularly modern or particularly valuable, tho I'm still sorting - lots of eclectic tools - bars, screwdrivers, drills, saws, paint brushes, couple of nice old medium sized american vices, etc, etc - real random -
would like to score his workbench, but it's 20' long, oak, with drawers the whole length - hard to load and haul -
if I have time, I may start a thread with picts -
haven't seen deals online that moved me to act -
Yes, Porter Cable 690 Router and ROS for $86 on Amazon. Got the router, still waiting on the sander. I'll probably sell the sander on Ebay or my old Dewalt ROS, whichever I don't like the most.
I can't imagine how a deal could be any better.
At the Depot in 7-corners in Arlington, VA after Christmas, I saw some super-nice big aluminum diamond-plate rolling tool chests, down from $599 to $299. Don't know if it's a deal everywhere, or just there.

Just got this Dewalt SCMS at Lowes clearanced for $184.50.

Nice score. That is a sweet saw. Particularly for less than 2 bills.
