My Mother in Law is super cool…. (great cook, great fun, and all around nice lady) and just got a brand new house, the house has some issues, like the deck is NAILED to the house (fixed that with OMG ledger locks and my impact driver) and there are other small issues that need to be addressed. One of the big ones is grab rails in the bathroom.
My MIL wants grab rails to assist getting into and out of a soaking tub, and something to grab onto during a shower (just in case) I would like to get ADA approved grab rails and make sure that they are anchored in a most burly manner. The enclosure for the shower has been tiled with a 10inch ceramic tile, 1/8 inch grout lines. I am not sure of the layout of the studs behind the tiles, I know where they should be..
any thoughts on the process or suppliers for rails? I would like to use a brushed stainless if possible.

They sell thoes at the big box stores - stainless steel and white - which I believe are powder coated SS. Actually fairly heavy duty looking. As far as mounting, not sure what to tell ya. Would have been nice if there were some blocking put in the walls. What is behind the tile? Cement board? Dense shield?
Have you checked out wing-its? They're like giant hollow wall anchors made specifically for grab bar installs. We've used them with good success. Here's a link to their site...

(They also sell grab bars, if you can't find them locally).
that looks great, but is using a 1.25 inch holesaw (diamond coated of coarse) a little scary in wall tile?

Nah, not a problem that I've found. If you're just drilling a few holes, you can also use a carbide one. We bought one from wingits, & it's been fine.
