finish flooring options in basement
i have a finished basement but still need some flooring over the concrete. moisture reading was a little too high for laminate. concerned with moisture build up, floor buckling and mold. other than ceramic tile and indoor – outdoor carpet are there any other options ?
does anyone have any feedback on the interlocking platform tiles mentioned in the latest finehomebuilding.
thanks

Look in the House Chat forum at the thread "Question Regarding Basement Floors" and that should help you.
thanks for your help. i went to house chat and found "delta - fl" which looks like it could work for me. since my moisture reading is alittle high i was going to seal the floor first with "drylock" than put the delta - fl down, than put the laminate foam and finally the laminate flooring. the only thing i am adding is putting the drylock down first the rest of the install instructions i got from the delta - fl web site.
i hope this is ok ?
thanks again & have a nice holiday

Sounds okay to me, but I'm no expert on this. I would think that Drylock couldn't hurt. There are clear sealers too that may be even better.
Check into "Dricore" subfloor,

I don't understand the logic of Dricore. Where is the moisture supposed to go once it migrates into the space between the concrete and the underside of the panels? I've looked at it for some basements but couldn't bring myself to actually use it.
Happy new year.
I have had no need to use dricore yet either. I think the logic is that a little water will evaporate out through the ventilation holes. At that price I think I would dig up and do proper weeping tiles first!

Stain the concrete and get a few of those new indoor/outdoor rugs you see at the big-box centers. Flood? Roll up a few rugs and hang them to dry.
Brick veneer, or thin brick as they like to call it. In a nice herrinbone weave maybe.
