I have 12″ white pine floors finished with tung oil
I am finishing one gable wall with pecky cedar.
I have a very large wooden window (10′ x 4′ +/-)
I am torn on the window trim and base. Essentially it boils down to overall aesthetics but I wanted some opinions:
1) Trim the window and base with cedar?
2) window with pine, base with cedar
3) What should I finish the cedar with? Tung? Nothing? other?
The look is an old “farm house/barn room”

I'll bite
not that familiar w/ pecky cedar but thinking it has holes or distressed look
much will work & there are probably many aspects of more importance than what you have mentioned ( is the front door close & is it painted white? ) but maybe some clear cedar for trimming window & base w/ a qtr round ( w/ your wide floorboards I like to go full 5/4" net available to me in hemlock only ) stained a bit darker to the darkest tint of cedar
tung oil is the best & cedar is soft base but i bet you're like me & do most of the vacuuming - it works great
My thoughts were about as you described.Trim all w/cedarbase with the quarter roundtung oilyes pecky cedar same as pecky cypress (but different wood)no door by the way, just an open stair case leading up to this room-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
