hitachi is the best out there right now.
high end sencos...

Is there even such an animal any more? I bought a Senco narrow crown stapler at the lumberyard a few years ago... ran me around $300. It's probably the worst nailer I own..... jams and misfires all the time on me. My $120ish Hitachi that I bought about a year after that thing had been light years better.
I've got nothing against Senco, but my experiences with owning them (only have had two) haven't been good at all. I know they used to be the cat's azz, but I was under the impression that those days are over. Which model numbers are the good ones? Do the higher end ones start with a certain sequence or something?
Anyway.... I stick with Hitachi. Just haven't had a bad experience with any of them. Own about 12 or 13 Hitachi nailers of various sorts at this point and love them all. View Image
My Senco SFN40 is about six years old. I've not a single complaint. Great tool...wonderfully balanced....not too heavy....and a workhorse.
Not sure whether they still make this model.....if not, I'll be crushed should this ever die.

Just checked their website.....looks like the Finish Pro 41XP is the new version of my gun.

Pretty sure there is....
I have the SHP. SFN40, SKS and SFIV (with the 20d mag) all for trim and they all seem to be bullet proof...

I think Diesel is right. You pay your money, you make your choice. I have a PC over 10 years old, 16g straight, constant.. and I mean constant use daily. All I have done to it is clean and oil it, not one problem. Senco I've have for about 5 years , a little 18g nailer, another great gun (I have the heftier model I forget the #). I even have a Craftsman that's about 6 years old nc stapler...just fine, I bought it on clearence for $35. My Bostitch 15 g is a good gun but I really don't use it that often, I had another Bostitch 15g before it for about 15 years and that finally gave up the ghost. I guess that's ok as nail guns go. The PC and my Senco are the workhorses.
I've had good fortune with finish nailers.
Here is a review of 15 ga. finish nailers that I found helpful.
