Does anyone have any experience with a product called “One Time”. www.onetimewood.com.
I struggling with the age ole issue of what to cover some exposed wood — Timberframe details — on the outside of the house. Anyway a local supplier has this and swears by it.

I think the name should frighten you off. You obviously have not been convinced with the collective endorsements of the other two products.
TGNY - Right now i'm planning on using Penofin ... totally based on the collective wisdom. i had the 'one time' brochure just sitting on my desk from a discussion a month ago w/my timber supplier and so i thought i'd ask. Just curious if others had used it...that's all.

Bob, thought you might be interested. This deck was installed last year and recoated today with Penofin (no I don't work for the company;-).It endured record rainfall last fall and this spring in the NorthEast.
Good luck with your project.
i'm having trouble finding the clear (as opposed to the transparent cedar) version of the red label product. I bought some of the cedar color and it's just too red/orange -- covers up the lighter parts of the doug fir. So it looks like i'm going to have to mail order it <-- which is a pain since shipping is high and it takes a while to get it.
Is that Ipe? Looks nice. I'm planning on using Tiger wood on the deck to this house which i'll also be coating w/Penofin i'm sure.
That is Malaysian mahogany. The clear was available in my local lumber store.
No one in Columbia can even spell it. They carry Sickenns (sp?) even Waterlox but not penofin.
I would think penofin is easier to spell than sick-ems ;-)I had to have Waterlox bootlegged from Rhode Island since NY/NJ/CT did not carry the old non-VOC compliant mixture.edit: Don't forget to use Anchor Seal on the end grain of your decking
