Finishing exterior door sill

I just installed a set of prehung exterior French doors with an oak sill. What is the best finish for an exterior door sill? I thought Watco made an exterior finish, but my local paint store says I must have been dreaming.

Does spar varnish have the durability to be walked on? I hate to use paint.
