I have installed fire rated doors. The PA. Dept. of Licences & Inspections requires fire rated panic bars and fire rated door closures. I have installed quality panic bars and door closures, but it doesn’t say anything about being fire rated. I have never heard of “fire rated panic bars/door closures”. Can anyone give me information on this specific requirement and where these materials can be secured.

Look for the UL label. Most of the high end stuff is rated, and the UL sticker normally declares that it is fire rated.
