If you want to stop the flame use Fire Caulk, a lot of the big boxs now carry it. ($10 a tube)
Have yet to see a foam product that stops the flames, just slows down the air flow, slows the burn time. Stuffing unfaced insulation will slow the burn time also. We use fire caulk on all rated walls & at B-vents for h2o heaters & gas fireplaces. Foam is used @ penatrations on the interior walls (pipes wires & such)
Big holes on interior they let us stuff unfaced, sometime we have to use a rock wool product, which we fondely call the Mean Green. (Fire Safe is the trade name).
Also....Hilti carries a full line of products.......and probably $$$
Hilti makes a host of firestop products:

3M has a good website that helps you figure out what to use for eaach type of application:

I believe Hilti is sold at the big-box..
If you are sealing pipes are wires from floor to floor, then the firestop mortar is what you want to use. You can stuff the space around the pipe with mineral wool..but it's the mortar that's giving you the protection..
For fireblocking, you can use shaftwall, a sheetrock that is 1-1/4" thick..use metal angles or studs and attach the shaftwall to the metal. Then use the fire caulk to seal any edges...
thanks guys--your the best--i'll check them out
You can get fire-rated foam. It does not provide as much fire resistance as the [expensive] special fire-rated caulks though.
Your codes may not accept the fire-rated foam, though many do. Fire rated foams are orange (from what I have seen).
One of the HDs around here actually stocks fire rated gun-foam (great stuff pro), but only this one (out of 4 I have checked). Probably can be ordered.
You may have better luck online.
