I don’t usually do drywall. On the job I’m doing now I’ve had to hang about a dozen sheets. I’ve managed to bruise the drywall in a couple of spots near the tapered and cut edges.

What do you mean by bruise?
Is the filing cracked? Is the paper dented? Is the paper torn?
How big is the deformation?
Compound can cover a lot of sins. Some paper tape (or plastic upgrades) also helps.
I think he means drywall contusions.
