Flashing against Pressure treated wood
Hey Guys and Gals,
I am working on a repair that required the R & R of a rim joist against a small porch slab. I want to put a flashing between the slab and the rim joist. However the flashing at my local box specifically states not to use with PT. Hmmm… Any ideas on a material to put between concrete and PT? It will be sandwiched pretty tight and I suspect it will still get some moisture though I am trying to fix that too.
Thank you for any guidance.

If you want metal, copper's easy to work with and PT doesn't mess with it. You won't find it at the big box, tho' -- you'll have to find a real roofing supply house.

Everything fits, until you put glue on it.
There are various "new" types of flashing available that will work nicely. At my BS they sell a black flexible membrane that is probably about 50 mils thick and seems to be made of a vinyl material. Think of an tire intertube only made of vinyl rather than rubber - it is about that consistency. Comes in 12" rolls.
At the local big box stores they sell something a little similar but that may not be as durable - it almost looks like very heavy mylar plastic and comes in white. It is more the consistency of thin sheetmetal. At my big box they have it back with the other roof flashings. (not sure if I would ever use it on the roof though.)
Ether material is very easy to work with and would undoubtedly last longer than most metals in your application (except copper).
Either material is very easy to work with.
