What do you guys use for carrying a large flat-bar in your tool belt?
Seems no matter what I try the damned thing always falls to the ground whenever I’m up on a ladder.

If yours has the nail puller hole at one end (like in the pic) could you rig up some sort of hook on the belt?
.....note to self.... don't walk under Jason when he's up the ladder....

How about
a big magnet fastened to your bags, maybe inside one of the pouches. Then slap the bar against the magnet when you want to carry it.
A lot of of the better step ladders have a slot built in to the tray that will work. Mine has one and I use it all the time for that tool.

I slip it in between my belt and pouch in the "loop".
