I am just a old guy without any money!
I had my flat roof “FIXED”.. Well.. to make a long story short.. Water never pooled on the roof untill they insisted to tear all the stuff off and do it over..
Now water pools in several places. Some leak..
Frankly I’m pissed!
I cannot get a roofer to just paper and tar over the so called new fanged rubber roofing they put on..
They insist to tear it off the old roofing..
My roof has very little ridges ( from expancion ?) or Pull-Away from the overhanging edges from the eaves….. Why can’t it just me tarred over?? I have limited income and.. well. I guess you get the point..
Thanks in advance…
Why can’t it just me ?? gee I typersd that? LOL

Will, the oil based tar would deteriorate the rubber.
What did the rubber roofer say on the call back. Usually, done right, a rubber roof will outperform the rest. Did the freeze thaw of this past winter move things around causing a leak, maybe at the flashings?

Please don't tell us you woke up at 3:03AM to find out your new roof was leaking?
Have them put throths (sp?) in where it pools to the edge of the roof....I saw it done dozens of times and wasn't all that complicated.....Its sorta like a leader thats pitched IN the roof to the edges....

This "so-called roofer, did he not give you a written bonded warranty.??
Most will give some kind of guarantee.
Obviously he did not.

Let's start with more information, George, you old dragon-slayer, you!
Many people refer to three different kinds of roofing as "rubber" roof. One is PVC membrane. one is a torch-down modified bitumen. And the real rubber is called EPDM.
The path to correction depends on the exact type of material that was applied.
second question -
How did you come to contract with the installers who left you with this near-fatal flaw? any of the kinds of roofing for falt or lowslope roofs depends heavily on the experience, expertise, and integrity of the installers, making it paramount that the consumer do diligent research to discover the background and reputation or quality of the person/company they are dealing with. This means that by going back to a BUR roof, you could just as easily get yourself a hack outfit to do it and leave you with leaks.
Question number three -
how deep does the water puddle? and how bad are the leaks? Have they been present since installation, or appear more recently? Any storms occour that could have caused damage?
four -
I don't understand what you are saying about pullbnacks and edges
It is probably fixable for far less than a new BUR ROOF>
