I’m looking for suggestions on how to solve a problem with a small (10′ I 8′) flat roof over my open front porch. This past winter it collected a significant amount of ice (about 8 inches) and when the temp rose the resulting meltoff ran down the adjoining wall where it pooled at the junction of the wall and flagstone porch and eventually ended up in my cold cellar. I’m going to seal the joint to prevent the leakage problem, however, I want to put some pitch on the roof to prevent the pooling. The thing I’m struggling with is how best to do that. The porch roof adjoins a gable on the short side and the main roof, which ends about 2 feet higher, on the long side. Any thoughts on materials/techniques?

Source control, ventilation, and filtration are the keys to healthy indoor air quality. Dehumidification is important too.
