I was interested to see one of those flipper shows tonight depict something resembling reality.
3 guys . . . this’ll be fun, we’ll make a killing
Things go wrong, big words, big egos thrown around, 2 walk leaving the third holding the bag.
He says I’ll show them. Looking to make 185K on the flip. Budget overruns, poor planning, carrying costs, he broke budget by 40K pretty quick, then sat on the thing, overpriced it, didnt listen to 3 realtors “I’m still optimistic I’ll get a buyer today”
In the end, another 10K in carrying costs, he sold it to an investor, and he got, for his full time labor for 3 months, $1700. Thats about what, $140 a week? Yup. Good plan, Johnny.

What's worse is that they did not listen to the flip lady. I probably would not have either, I would have too busy drooling.
I think it was scripted, although I do see how the "leader" was stupid enough to screw up to that degree.
I liked the part where the halfway smart one was mentally trying to recap budget and said " do we have any more big things left?". Oh yeah,$6,000 for appliances (only 10% of the original budget.
Loved the rotted subfloor, blame was laid on busting up tile, did not see any looking for the leak. "Leader" idiot walking on the newly finished floors, drywalling before checking out electrical, and the list goes on. I get a kick out of the open house lookers, I did not see too many that looked like they could afford a $700k shack.
The hole in the wall and pullout cover plate were nice touches.
EXACTLY!!
Yeah, she was, um, distracting. But all that other stuff too. Especially appearances. Some of the people and the way they were dressed, way they talked, made you think a lot closer to trailer than 700K. Looky-loos.Real trucks dont have sparkplugs
