I have a hallway I need to transition into a living room, the area is 3 ft by 5 ft and I need to float it from 1/4 inch to zero (feather it).
What is the best product to use. The owners want to install laminate flooring and don’t want a threshold.
Thanks in advance.

Can you build up the whole area to rec'v the laminate with a layer of underlayment?

One of the cement-based floor levelers is easy to use and durable. You'll want to prime the plywood with the bonding agent and use an admix if it's an option for the product you choose.
I also wouldn't hesitate to use a good quality thinset with moose milk.
Finally, if the floor needs to be fixed asap I've used a galon of bondo to level one floor section. It smells up the place, but is easy to flatten with a surform file and in a half hour it's ready to go.

Thanks Don, that's exactly what I was looking for.
