I put a floating floor in a three season sun porch in montreal about 3 1/2 years ago. I was back at the same house last week for something unrelated and took a peek into the porch and everything looked ok
That's good to hear. What kind of floor/material/company did you use.
I don't remember the exact brand of flooring, it was just a medium priced thingy from our local big box. I used the white foam underlay. I generally try and avoid the really cheap flooring as they tend to look like crab, all the seams remain very visible and tend to get more so over time. Also the cheaper vesions tend to take a bit longer to install, so going for a better quality product tends to be better of for the client in the long run.
OK, thanks. I'm going to see her today. I'll tell her what I found out and let her make the final decision. In a way I don't see why it wouldn't work. It's a small room and I was going to allow for more expansion and contraction then usual. Probably add some shoe molding.
Thanks again
What KIND of floating floor?
Floating floor just indicates the installation methods. Looks of different materials are used for floating floors.
I believe she wants to go cheap. She wants something other then carpet. So any suggestions will be welcomed. The room is small, about 12X20. She called me today and said HD said Pergo does not recommend installing it in a non-heated room.
