I have a storage area underneath my garage that I want to put a floor into. It originally had a dirt floor with sharp gravel over it, but I covered it with blue tarps and plastic to keep the moisture down. I’d like to put in a real floor so that I can get better usage of the space.
My first thought was to put concrete in, which would require me to hire somebody to do the work, since I don’t have the concrete experience. It might also require me to take out some of the existing gravel to get the right finished height.
My second thought was to build the floor out of wood. I’d leave the vapor barrier down, put down 2×4 treated sleepers, and then treated plywood on top of that.
Should I be considering the second one, or should I just go with the concrete?

If you are down there a lot, then go with wood, or wood over concrete, if its just storage, I'll let someone else decide what's better. Concrete is bad on the knees in a shop space.
