Looking at installing some 12″ tile on a concrete slab. Just for fun I get to remove the existing tile, cuz she don’t like the style 🙂 About 250 sf. Anyway, there is a crack running along 3-4 tiles, and she says it was not there when they bought the house about 5-6 yrs ago, and it seems to be slowly growing. No signs of shetrock cracking or doors not fitting well.
I think it would be prudent to install a crack isolation membrane. Something thin. Anyone have any brand name suggestions?

I happened to be at the tile store last week and there was a rep from Schluter Systems with just the stuff you need. Check it out at http://www.schluter.com
Which Schluter product are you referring to? have you usewd it?

Ditra is the stuff I'm thinking of. Saw it in germany a while back but could not ask or get close to it. Larry Horton is the rep in the east 1-800 472 4588 ex 129. Get him to send you some info.
I'd use Laticret Blue. Its about half the price of Ditra and it is not a special order.
