I would like to put a new floor in my moms kitchen its on a 30 year old house and its a slab, at one flooring place recomended a laminated floating floor they snaplock together and are glueless. Please tell me if this floor will be okay to put down in this type of area. thanking you in advance for any help you can offer. art

It will work ok if you buy the extra thick pad/underlayment that goes with it. Treat the pad as a vapor barrier. Install it continuously around the room and tape the seems with duct tape.
Why do you want to put formica on the kitchen floor? Have you considered all the other choices? Ceramic tile (and other hard tiles), 12" vct sqaures, old fashioned linoleum, cork?
The click-lock floating floors tend to sound hollow when you walk on them. And they are really, really tough to repair.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.
