I recently added vinyl siding to a dormer with painted wood siding. In some areas, the contractor attached foam insulation board over the wood siding prior to installing the vinyl siding. Is there a potential for moisture collection and rot of the underlying wood siding? Would it have been better to have the wood siding removed prior to attaching the vinyl?
