Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had tried this product (Foamofoam—www.foamofoam.com)as an alternative to
sprayed job by a polyurethane or icynene contractor on a remodel to foam insulate an attic, wall cavities, or crawlspace. Looks like it might be a cost-effective way to get a foam job at a reasonable price.
Thanks,
Dave

Only way to know is to compare the cost per board foot against the same hired out. Haven't seen it be a favorable comparison yet, but on any given Sunday (so to speak)...
I got sprayed for about 1/4 the price. If I recall, foamofoam is $600 for a 600 bd ft set IF YOU BUY A WHOLE PALLET. This is also a high density (closed cell) foam and I sprayed a lighter density (open cell) foam. So it's not exactly apples to apples but as far as the heat is concerned, it doesn't seem to know the difference.
I'd be interested to hear about it though because I still have some parts of the house to spray and it might be too small to get the whole foam rig back out here.
MERC.
Could you give us a good URL?
Here's the url directly from the site: http://www.fomofoam.com
Expensive stuff. Unlikely to be cheaper than the truck for large jobs. Might make sense for small areas. Foamers typically have a minimum.
For example, a standard 8' X 16" X 3.5" wall cavity is going to take 37.24 Bd. Feet. to fill. If you buy the regular stuff in the 605 Ft Tank@ $695 + $100 shipping it's about $1.31 per foot, or almost $49 to fill just the one cavity. Adds up quick.
